SwitchMot - MOV - is there a +/-?
« on: November 10, 2018, 11:42:20 AM »
I looked on the schematic too and couldn't even find it.  And is that component next to the MOV just a resistor?  I looked at the SwitchMot and SwitchMotPSU pages and couldn't find the answer.

Always solder components from smallest to largest. Start by soldering the MOV (blue through hole component). Then solder the terminal header and make sure the leads access terminals are to the exterior of the board. Finally trim the leads as neat and flat to the PCB as possible.

Maybe I found it on the schematic.

Is this the MOV?

And does that mean the component next to it is a diode?  I don't see I diode in my parts pack and it isn't shown in the parts picture above.

Yes, I'm talking about the blue component.

What about that second component right next to the MOV.  I don't have that in my component pack and also it isn't shown in the second picture above.

The MOV is next to the fuse in the top picture.

Note:  I just now read that there is no longer a fuse..  read the description for both the SwitchMote PSU and the SwitchMote

Yes thats in the guide. It was a fuse, no longer needed with the new PSU ;)
