In case it helps anyone: if you happen to already have a ball valve installed but without a motor, then kits exist to simply add a shut-off motor:

It makes for an easier retrofit.

If I may interject, my seller listed it as NPT, and I received units with  NPT threads, as printed on the box (see picture 4).

Since it appears all of these units come from the same place, if it shows NPT on the box it should be OK.
Mais non!  Francois!  Certainment vous ette Francaise!

Please excuse the very poor French.  I couldn't stop myself.

Really?  NPT?  Honest?  But... the links talk about NPS and DN20 etc.  Really, NPT?

Tom,
Pas Français, mais Canadien Français.. Big difference  ;)
If you drill down in the link I supplied earlier, you will find this in the seller's text: buyers from US and Canada get NPT.

I used standard stuff I had and it threaded perfectly.

Frank ( better ?) 8)

I have used ice maker  12volt valves as fillers reverse osmosis into 50 gallon barrel for my aquariums. Not sure about current draw.  Plan on using a couple more as external dog Waterer and one as pond auto filler.  Might go with one of these as it detects fully closed position.  Got them on eBay for couple bucks.
