Low current measurement
« on: June 21, 2020, 04:22:42 AM »
Hello,

I am planning to make a current ranger but with simpler switching technique and lower components (schematic attached below). I choose to use the DMG3406L datasheet: https://www.diodes.com/assets/Datasheets/DMG3406L.pdf
as an n-channel mosfet and i plan to turn it on and off from the raspberry pi. I will power this device from the raspberry pi 3.3V pin.
But also the DUT (device under test) will also be powered from the same pin. and as i planned to use a low side measurement the GND and -IN pin could be the same net.
I would like to have an idea does this could really work?
Do the mosfet will turn on and off normally as the voltage reference of the gate may not be the same with the voltage in the source?
Is there any enhancement i could do?

Thanks
