Moteino wifi ethernet

If i connect a wifi or ethernet module to a moteino would i be able to send emails directly from the moteino?

is there a good wifi or ethernet module out there with good documentation?

(I dont see any modules being sold @lowpowerlab)

If I had to I would probably go with ESP8266 to add wifi.

I cant figure out how to program the esp8266 from a moteino.

This is the error i get:

Im not sure if im supposed to use an esp8266 board, but i tried that and i get:
