Moteino Sketch upload from Raspberry Pi (avrdude 6.1, 5.11) [solution]

Uploading from a Pi is still new territory to me, unbelievably, so I can't offer much advice. It's of interest to me for sure since I want to build a more integrated gateway solution which might require native uploads. For now my idea for updating the gateway Moteino is using wireless programming which works great and I've only had to do it a few times in 2 years when I updated the gateway sketch. If you're using a Pi for development, that's a different story.
