Moteino only sends/receives when power is cycled

I have a basic gateway setup and node. The problem is the gateway only receives packets when the power is cycled. I have the RFM69 radio on a CS pin that is not default, So to access it I am pulling the pin LOW. It all works great but has issues. I am not putting the Moteino to sleep either. I need to clean up my code to post it but this is turning into a very frustrating problem. Any ideas? Has anyone come across this?
