Is 3.6 V primary lithium battery suitable for moteino?

Hi,

I discovered Saft LS 14500 battery, it's advantage should be wide range of operating temperatures and 3.6V in AA form factor. Datasheet is here: http://www.saftbatteries.com/force_download/LS14500.pdf

Do you think that this battery is suitable for moteino?

It depends on three things:
1. What is your reliability criteria?  ie, works most of the time is ok, or, my life depends on this.
2. What is the load on the 3.3V side of the regulator? Moteino only or additional peripherals that are adding a load on the regulator.
3. What is the operating temperature for above?  The battery may produce voltage at -20C but it doesn't produce enough at any real current.  You might be able to address this, but it depends on the answers above.

I've been using 14500 and 18650 (which look like scaled up AAs) 3.7V rechargeable Lithium Ion batteries with several Moteinos since November. So far so good. Most of them are indoors, one in a fridge (5C) and one outdoors in the mailbox -- all have been going since November, but the Arduinos sleep most of the time. This winter has been mild, the absolute minimum was about -10C; this was no problem.. but no deep freeze experiences. You could just try placing a Moteino with the battery in your freezer and see how it works.

I've added voltage divider battery power reporting to some nodes, and those are still going strong at about 3.9V (after charging those chinese-brand batteries can go up to 4.1/4.2V, but drop down 3.95V pretty soon).
