Fritzing part for Moteino ?

Has anyone made a custom Moteino virtual part for the Fritizing software?

I have not made a part yet, however you can use the moteino footprint contained in the attached file as a template for creating one. The three moteino header sockets are in the middle of the pcb.

If you do make a part please post on the forum here, I am sure other would find it useful.

It doesn't appear to be in your GitHub repo.

I actually just imported a SVG file I made for Moteino in Inkscape at that time, and created the resulting pretty image in Fritzing but I haven't used Fritzing since.

Building on the work VdesmedT did, I made the Moteino breadboard model look more like the part. I also made a schematic and PCB symbol. It seems to work. Please report any problems.

If I have time I'll do the USB and Mega Moteinos.

Thanks guys for working on this. Although I don't find fritzing a particularly versatile software, some people that are getting started with electronics might find it less scary.

Felix, I hear you. It's nice for making pretty pictures. I just wanted to try my hand at making a Fritzing part. It's a messy process, even with the SparkFun guide.

I'starting with electronic and what I like about Fritzing is certainly not versatility but that you can directly order you prototyped PCB online. I have use it a couple of time and the result is pretty decent .Off course and don't have any other experience so if you guys have better options for me, please share :-)

There's no easy and great. If you want to make toys Fritzing could be good enough. If you want to make electronics, you will need something better, maybe Eagle or Diptrace.

I've been using EasyEDA and am pretty satisfied with it. It's web-based so my projects are wherever my browser is. It's also WAY easier to make parts and footprints than Eagle, which is a PIA to do in. No size limit, it's free, and you can order PCBs at very reasonable prices directly from the editor. It's definitely worth a try anyway.

Hey - cool that there is a fritzing part :-)

Fritzing is the right tool to document your breadboard- prototyps -
for this i like it - its easy 'drag and drop' mouse based...
but it is difficult to make new footprints or components..
i have tried to make some pcbs - and ists difficult to design a clean looking routing..
for PCBs i use KiCad in the current 'developer' edition - for windows its easy with kicad-winbuilder..

at the beginning it is a bit 'strange' from the handling - but if you get used to it you can get really fast and i like it really...
