The pads for the SMD resistors - what size (form factor) resistors should be used please?

0603 pads, with a little care you could also solder 0805.

I believe that you could also route one 1/8 watt axial lead resistor (carbon comp or metal film) between pins 3 & 4. Two in parallel should also work if that combination is what you need.

I'm looking for a 10 min cycle so I have ordered a  124K and a 107K resistor.
Are there any issues power cycling a moteino every 10 mins? would it affect its life?
I am planning some sensors (air quality, TPH etc) for a LORAWAN project.
Anyone done anything like this before using the TPL5110

Definitely a lot of options, and lots of combinations (see DS for example common resistor values that are easy to find and easy to obtain common sleep intervals). You can solder SMD resistors on the bottom, or use the side pins on a breadboard (with similar 1/8w resistors as those offered in the kit), or you can even solder them directly ontop the pin headers once those are soldered to the breakout.
I don't see any problem with power cyclying the load (moteino or whatever) at any interval.

There is no 'wear' in power cycling the ATMega328P or radio (RFM69W) in this way.

I've been using this configuration on a CR2032 powered TH mote for some time (at least 6 months) without any problems.  In my case, for a 10 minute cycle, I've used a 56.2K 1% resistor in series with a 1.2K 5% resistor.  The timing on one of the motes is off by about -5.5 seconds while the other is off by -2 seconds but both are consistent so I could tweak them if I really cared about 600.00 seconds.
