SonarMote using AA batteries
« on: September 29, 2019, 10:10:57 AM »
I have been using the power shield to support my Moteino. Does the SonarMote support AA input in the same way, or does it need the LiPo battery? Also, does the SonarMote continuously provide power to the sensor, or does it have the ability to switch off the power to the sensor when not in use?

On SonarMote D5 (active high) enables power to the sonar sensor.
You can use AA's to power it but obviously you don't want to charge them using the onboard MCP73831 charger which expects a LiPo. So .. with that caveat you could use any battery (combined < 5V).

WeatherShield you mean? That uses regulated 3.3V from the Moteino LDO, so yes it should work with your SonarMote+Moteino.
