Title: RFM69HW Controlled LED Matrix
Post by: silentone on June 18, 2017, 10:15:16 PM
Hi there,

I'm wanting to build some sort of wireless notice board for my mancave - I've brought a https://www.freetronics.com.au/products/dot-matrix-display-32x16-red which runs off https://github.com/freetronics/DMD

Using an Arduino UNO i've got both parts working separately, but because they're both SPI I assume they'll be conflicting? (As when you initialize the radio everything misbehaves) Haven't been able to find much online of a solution.

Hopefully someone is able to shed some light :)

You can have multiple slave devices on the SPI bus using separate chip selects. There's nothing to stop you using two separate SPI interfaces if you have the pins for it, that's easier to deal with IMO than having separate chip selects and you don't have to worry for example about interrupts causing problems or having to implement SPI transactions.

Mark.
