Hey Felix I noticed you are using Fluke 80V multimeter. I like that it can record voltage readings, that's something my chep-o DMM can't do. But they I looked at the price and it costs almost $350 
Yikes, that's same price as a Oscilloscope!
Are there any other good DMM that you might recommend that cost $150 or less?  What main features should I be looking for?

Hmm ... yeah it's actually a Fluke 87V true RMS multimeter.
My previous meter was a $50 range meter that stopped working after a while or would give me bad readings. So I decided to invest in a tool that will last a lifetime.
I really don't have much experience with other meters except the cheap ones everyone seems to start with, which are complete garbage. Try EEVBlog's multimeter review videos, that might help if you're looking for a good meter on a budget. Sorry for not being more resourceful here.
I would however not recommend anything but a top brand if you want dependable quality for a very long time.

Just received my 87V last night (decided to take plunge and ordered used on of eBay). Yeah it's a mean machine, I'm still trying to figure out how to use all the functions, but microAmp measurement and Max/Min/Average memory is awesome!

Congrats! You will get a lot of mileage from that bad boy. You won't be sorry for the investment. If you change your mind (which you won't ) you will likely get the investment back if you resell.

I own a Fluke 179 and it was the best money I EVER spent on a DMM. A word of caution.. This meter is fused on the current ranges and the fuses are very expensive @ $20.00 for the pair..

That's to be expected. If you ever do something you really should not, those fuses might save your life. Another best spent $20

Can you explain why you choose this particular Fluke and not one of those 287/9 that also does trends capture ? Is it only because of their prices ?

While singing the praises of their equipment, I used to tell the Fluke salesman who came to our lab, that they should add a new marketing slogan:
"If it works, it MUST be a Fluke!"

I don't understand why they never picked that up...
