Do the kit boards (ie MotionMote) USB port provide programming or just power?

Subject says it all?  Is the MotionMote USB just used for power?

Sorry I missed this topic somehow, the USB on MotionMote and other coming motes is there for charging and for programming.

Thanks, this was a while ago.  The reason I couldn't program via on-board USB is related to the other thread about using the two different FTDI chips on OSX.  It works fine under Win7.
