CurrentRange and HC-06 - connections
« on: August 19, 2019, 11:20:14 PM »
I am getting a HC-06 for my CurrentRanger.  Do people mount it inside the case on the bottom?  I was thinking I would use a 4-pin female header soldered to the CurrentRange and then short jumper to connect the HC-06.  All the photos of the HC-06 show pins already soldered.  The HC-06 would be inside the case with the battery.  Is this how people connect theirs?

I've seen it done both ways.
It really just depends on how big your battery is, and how neat you can arrange everything inside without any possibility for a short on the components side.
If that's what you will do, it means you cannot easily access it once it's all mounted in the case.
I would recommend mounting a right angle header on TOP for easy on-demand access. Then you can use dupont wiring to attach your serial device to it.
