Permanent Restart
« on: June 01, 2014, 08:20:56 PM »
Hi,

During the weekend I was wiring up my ATXRaspi Rev2 and experienced some issues.
1. After wiring it up and finally doing the power connection, the Raspi was directly starting (without pressing the button).
2. After 10-20 sec the lights on the Raspi went down for about a sec and the Raspi was restarting. This will go on forever.
I have measured the power output of the ATXRaspi and I noticed a power drop below 5 Volt when the Raspi does down.
Without the ATXRaspi it is running fine.

Thank you in advance for your support,

Balle

Please be sure to have the software part installed and wiring done correctly. That's what I would check first.

Hi Felix,
I have the wiring rechecked and software reinstalled. Everything OK now. Don't know what the issue was, but that doesn't matter.
Thanks for this great product and your support.

Hi,

I was wiring up my ATXRaspi Rev2.8 and experienced some issues.
1. After wiring it up and finally doing the power connection, the Raspi was directly starting (without pressing the button).
2. After 10-20 sec the lights on the Raspi went down for about a sec and the Raspi was restarting. This will go on forever.

Thank you,

bryan

Bryan,
Not knowing what switch you used, Is it possible you are wired to the normally closed contacts instead of normally open?  It could also be too much solder on your header pins which could cause a short under the plastic separating the pins.  Possibly disconnect everything and ring out the switch pins.

Also, if you could post some pictures it might help.

I guess I should have added, is the switch momentary?

Did you try and re-load the software like mentioned above?  Felix or others will have to help ya if it's a software issue. You happen to meter the switch, it's open correct?

What are the ATXRaspi LEDs doing all this time?
What is the output in the console reporting (specifically coming from the ATXRaspi script)?

The LED is Green and then it starts up. Then I get the Red Trigger Light and it shuts itself down and then restarts. Sometimes it shuts itself down, but does not restart.

Where would I find the Console Output Reporting?

On the console output, at the end of the booting wall of text.
Or do you boot into a desktop?

No I'm not booting into a desktop. I have RETROPIE and at the end it says Trigger Detected or something trigger. It happens so fast you can't read it.
