I'm making a Retropie project in a NES Case i tested everything (it worked) but when i wired it up it began to smell funny, and the pi goes on but the switches and the led don't work. First they did..
Help..
Possible bad wiring?
I can guarantee correct wiring will not fry it. But ATXRaspi is not desgined to withstand inverse polarities. There is a guide at lowpowerlab.com/atxraspi that shows how to do it right and avoid the magic smoke or other issues, it's the best I can provide right now.
When i connect everything the pi goes on even whitout pressing the switch and the led doesn't go on.
Is that a indication that he's broken?
Yeah that definitely sounds broken/fried. It should never come on without the button press - ie just be a power passthrough.
is there a way to fix it?
What could be the cause of this? To much
Power or wrong wiring +/ - turned?
I don't know how exactly you wired it so I will refrain from guessing.
Fix it? I don't know what was smoked so again I can't guess how and if it's fixable. Probably not worth the effort and time, given the cost of the board itself.
I think i switched the power cables so + was - and - was +.
Stupid mistake..
thnx for the reply..
Yep, that probably did a bunch of damage.
