Vitor Henrique created the CurrentRangerApp and was kind enough to share it and make it open source. Built with Rust + Tauri v2, React + TypeScript, and uPlot for high-performance real-time charting, the app interfaces to a CurrentRanger to remotely configure and control it, extract/log/export the current measurements data and display it in new and enhanced ways. It’s tested on mac and steps to install are posted here.
The Github repository (forked here for posterity) includes a nice User Guide that describes all functionality and features, such as:
- Real-time current monitoring with 50 Hz+ sample rates
- Autoranging across mA, uA, and nA ranges
- Minimap overview with click-to-navigate
- Markers and annotations (point and range markers with custom colors)
- Charge / energy integration (coulombs, mAh, joules, mWh)
- Battery runtime estimation with derating factors
- Workspace save/load for persistent sessions
- CSV and JSON export
- Full device configuration panel (LPF, BIAS, autoranging, calibration, etc.)
