Wireless Joystick & Camera Gimbal
« on: September 18, 2013, 05:41:15 AM »
Question: Can a joystick control a camera gimbal using two Moteino R3 & RFM69HW tranceivers?

Self Answered: Yes, a joystick is usually two potentiometers set perpendicularly. Simply edit the code from the Pot & Servo project to work with two pots and two servo motors. You will then be able to wire up your joystick and operate a camera gimbal - wirelessly. Moteino Style!  :D

Here is the video for viewing: http://youtu.be/DqRSbYrDDqc

Go to the Pot and Servo project for the code to edit to make this happen.

Sweet, looks like this could be used for a tilt/pan security camera.

Add an IMU and it could make an excellent way of controlling a gimble on a copter - or what just tickled my brain the end of a camera boom.
